The Bordoodle is a mixture of a Border Collie and a Poodle. These are becoming very popular because of the many wonderful qualities of both breeds. For example Bordoodles are non-shedding, extremely trainable and very friendly. I like to call them the "smartest oodle"!

While Bordoodles have been around for a very long time - they are not yet a breed. It takes approximately seven generations for a breed to become consistent and recognised. There is thus scope to influence and develop the breed - which is an objective of our program.
We also run an international Facebook Group called Bordoodle Breed Development to discuss this and work towards a standard. Perhaps you would like to join?

Training and suitability
Bordoodles are not for the feint hearted. They can throw personalities from full border collie to full poodle and anything in between. They are lovely, kind, caring and loyal. But they will need an owner who can teach them how to exist well in their environment. They are described as a "lot of dog".

For the bordoodle it's not about the amount of time spent walking, it's about the type of excercise and stimulation you give them. Their brains need tiring out. They read patterns and they want to solve them. They want to please and can be very very adaptable - however to help them fit into your life we strongly reccommend getting a trainer in your home from early on.
